Then, she tells us to turn to the table of contexts in our notebooks. After, we discuss the writing process, and she tells us tips on how to get good grades on projects, rubrics, prompts, and samples; she also says we could look at old stories we have written for past classes. The Writing Process

In Ms. Nakada's wonderful class, we first got our binder reminders. Then, we started writing the Agenda and homework. After we went over Ron's blog to correct all the mistakes, we took a minute to get our books out. Later, we went over the book School Trip, and we talked about where they were in Paris, and how one of the chaperone looked like Mr. Watson. We were also talking about idioms. In the book, some people wanted to do one thing, but some wanted to do other things. Once we were done with School Trip  we worked on the three word summary, and then we went over the "Week 2 Quote; Question Sing Lines" by bell hooles, and wrote three sentences about the main question "What do you think about school?" After writing our answers, we talked about them. Later, closer to when class was about to end, we listened to Marvin Gaye and wrote what it's about and our favorite lyric. Then we left!!!

Week 1 quote Question

We started off by coming into the classroom tired from lunch. We all came in and sat down and got out our binder reminders and started writing down the agenda. Ms. Nakada gave us a minute to breath and relax while we wrote our agenda in our binder reminder. Then, we read over and corrected the last person's blog. After that, Ms. Nakada asked us to take out our reading journal and our School Trip book, and we went over what we read last night and wrote down three words to describe what we read. We also went through some of the recent eighth graders letters before us we also got some quiet time to write our own letters. Soon after that, we took out our English note books again and we did quote question song lines. We went through the lines of a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." Our question to answer was What do you hope? Finally we got excused to go to our last class of the day.

HW: Return C.O./A.U.P./E.C./H.Q.

It was the first day of school at Emerson! As students made their way into the room after lunch, they found seats based on the letter I assigned. Then, I passed out binder reminders and students labeled them and wrote down the agenda.

After that, we went over the contents of the Welcome Packets with all of the forms that needed to be returned. There were also reminders about the uniform and phone policy (along with the new "don't order food" policy).

With that school business out of the way, I passed out the Course Outline, and we went over that this was everyone's last first day of middle school. We talked about making sure you have space and quiet to get school work done.

We proceeded through the Course Outline and reviewed materials needed for class. We talked a little about equitable grading and expectations for work habits and cooperation. After the simple rules for the class, we took a quick look at the syllabus before naming our blog: "24K Slime Gang."

Everyone pushed in their chairs and left. Welcome back, Class of 2024! It's going to be a good year.
