and write a poem!

We walked into English class. First, we took out our binder reminders to write down our daily agendas. Then, Carlos came up to the class and read his sixth blog. Soon after he finished reading his blog, we clapped, and he choose me. We went over his blog to fix some corrections. Then, we talk about how today was our last day to writing poems. We passed out the pink poem papers and choose to read ''The Rose That Grew from Concrete" By Tupac Shakur. This poem is about how there was many struggles and more. After we got three minutes to write our poem. Dariyah read our poem for us. Soon after that, we did our song for our QQSL . This weeks song was ''Born in the USA'' by Bruce Springsteen. Then, Jake wanted to read his poem. Then, Ms. Nakada told us to start writing our poems on the computer. You can skip a poem if you don't want it in your collection. Finally, we packed up and left.

Today we walked in Ms. Nakada's class and we wrote down our agenda. Then, Alexa read her blog. After she read her blog, she picked me for the blog. After she picked me, we started on our week 15 Quiz. Then, we did a poem by ''Fire and Ice'' by Robert Frost. After the poem we read, we wrote poems.We started on our week 16 Quote by Fred Korematsu. "If you have the feeling something is wrong, don't be afraid to speak up." Then we did, our Question ''Who do you look for understanding the difference between right and wrong?" Then, we packed up and left.

We came into class after lunch and settled down. We took out our agendas and started writing it down while we took a minute. After we took a minute, Alex ready his blog and we went through and corrected it. Then, he choose me and I went up and started doing the blog. After that, we got started on writing a new poem. When we finished Ms. Nakada went up and started asking us how many poems we had, to write it down. Jake and Cody shared they're poems afterwards too. Then we got started on our lines which were "Poetry" by Yrsa Daley Ward. First, we listened  to the poem in a video then, we read through it and annotated it. When we were done with that, We got started on the quiz but then we didn't do it anymore because it was time to go so we packed up and left.

Today we walked to Ms. Nakada's classroom. Then we take a minute, and we took out our notebooks to wrote down the Agenda. Emanuelle read his blog and picked me. We wrote "To the Young Who Want to Die" by Gwendolyn Brooks in our reading journals. Then, Ms. Nakada read the poem. We write a poem for three minutes, and then others share their poems. Then, we did song lines: "King of Pain" by The Police. Then, we packed up and left.

Today we walked into class took a seat and wrote down our agenda. Then, we picked the poem "The Red Wheel Barrow."  We then wrote down what the meaning of the poem was. Then, we wrote our poems of the day and Ms. Nakada set a timer for three minutes.  After that, we worked on our Quote - Question - Song - Lines.  We talked about mental toughness, and we packed up and left for the day.

Today we started Ms. Nakada's class by taking a minute, and writing down the agenda. Then, Ameri read the blog and chose me. After that, we did the Week 14 Quiz and read the poem "The Laughing Heart" by Charles Bukowski. Then, I forgot to write down the rest of it, because I got distracted talking about Euphoria. We discussed the quote of the week: "Do not ignore the pain. Give it purpose. Use it." - Amanda Gorman. The bell rang before we got to the question.

Today we walked into class and took out binder reminders. We wrote down the agenda, and then I got called to the assistant principal's office about a head injury that I got during P.E. Then, we took out other English notebooks and started to write and read the lines from our Q.Q.S.L. The lines are: ''I'm Going Back to Minnesota Where Sadness Makes Sense." The lines were a little sad and it was about the weather matching the mood. We talked about personification when we take a thing and talk about it like a person. Finally, we started to finish our book projects, and we packed up and left .

To start off class, we took a minute and wrote down the agenda. Then, Jake picked me to write the next blog. After that, we read our weekly poem and analyzed it. We then wrote down the poem. I wrote mine down about negotiating with your past. I also wrote the poems from 1-2 weeks ago that I didn't do. We then wrote down the quote and question.

Question: What do tests reveal/not reveal about student learning? 

Then, we packed up and left.

Ms. Nakada went over the quiz with us, and then we packed up and left.

Today we started off class with our take a minute, today was different because we got to watch it in a huge screen.  Then, Chanel read her blog, and Ms. Nakada corrected it.  After that, we picked the poem "Mi Madre" by Pat Mora.  We all wrote our poems for three minutes, and after that we did our Quote Question song lines.  Then, we talked about what the song, "Garden Song" by Phoebe Bridgers meant  and meanings of words. We wrote down our favorite line and left for the day.

We started off the class with coming in, taking out our agenda's. Then We went over Riolexus  blog and corrected it. Soon after he read it he picked me. We took our reading journals out , passed out the pink paper to read poems. We read a poem called ''Fog'' by Carl Sandburg. After Ms. Nakada read it Alexa wanted to read it again for us. We got some time to write our poems down. Soon after that Ms. Nakada called on us for our novel progress. We got into doing our Week 13 QQSL. Then we finished  and left class.

Then, when we were done reading the book, we took the AR test on the book by Judith Viorst. Then, after that, we packed up and left.

Today we came into class and got started on our agendas. While we were writing our agenda, we took a minute. After that we read through Cody's blog, because he wasn't here. When we finished reading that, we started reading "blessing the boats" (at St. Mary's) by Lucille Clifton and discussed it. Then, we took out our reading journals and wrote it in our reading journals we also wrote three words too summarize it and three words to describe why it's a poem. Once we were done with that, we got started on writing a poem. Then, Ms Nakada read the poem she wrote for us, and she also started graphing our progress with the poems. After that, we got started on the lines "Because You Asked About the Line Between Prose and Poetry" by Howard Nemorov. When we finished with that, we got into our Black Author project groups, and got ready to present. After we were done presenting and grading each other's presentations the bell rang and we left.

 Ms. Nakada asked students to take out the poem  packet.  Ms.Nakada read the poem, "Toy Boat" by Ocean Vuong.  The poem is for Tamir Rice.  It's a sad poem. We listened to "Apple Tree" by Erykah Badu. This song is about being your own person and choosing your friends wisely. We moved into Black author project groups and then the bell rang.
